For the first time since the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, our newscast is back in our fourth-floor studios at Robson and Burrard, but now with a brand new, state of the art set.

We inherited the now-famous CTV Olympics set -- this is our Olympic legacy.

For nearly three weeks now, our newsroom has looked and sounded like a construction site, as a small army of men and women worked nearly non-stop to get the job done.

Completing a makeover of this magnitude in just 18 days was a monumental effort by all involved, but now it's finished.

By Wednesday, the crew was getting down to short strokes.

Less sawing -- more sweeping.

Less pounding -- more polishing.

Now the set is ready, with many cutting edge innovations, like polarizing filters on the windows, so we can finally make use of the spectacular view outside our studio windows.

The new look has our directors and producers giddy with the possibilities -- we hope you're as excited as we are.
