Every Friday, Consumer Reporter Lynda Steele dips into the mailbag to answer your questions. This week, Steele on Your Side investigates transferring rewards points after death and an update on a made-in-B.C.success story.

Transferring rewards points

Michelle wrote CTV News to ask about transferring TD reward points from her deceased mother's credit card account to her own.

Her mother had 90,000 rewards points valued at $400 when she died. Michelle argues that since you purchase the Visa card the points are earned and not free and should, therefore, be transferrable.

But TD told Steele on Your Side that according to its cardholder agreement, TD reward points cannot be transferred between two separate accounts.

The only way points can be shared is if another person has a supplementary card on the same account as the primary cardholder.

Ethical Deal sold

Back in 2012, Steele on Your Side reported on Ethical Deal, an online deal site created by a local entrepreneur.

Ethical Deal offers daily deals of 50 per cent off socially responsible services and products.

Now Annabela Krebs, the woman behind the destination for green deals, has sold the company to nCrowd, the third largest North American daily deal site.

Krebs says she's now branching out with her new venture Social Nature, a social product sampling community that helps people try natural products for free.
