UPDATE: Officials confirmed Cydnie Markel-Rempel and David “Yoda” McKay have both been arrested.

Police are searching for two suspects believed to be connected to the targeted death of a man in Chilliwack.

According to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), RCMP were called to an incident at a house in the 8900-block of Glenwood Street just after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

When they arrived, 40-year-old John Robert Oliver Anderson was found “in medical distress.” He was taken to hospital but died shortly after 1:30 p.m. The cause of his death has not yet been confirmed.

Several people who were inside the house at the time were escorted out, and the residence was secured by police.

On Thursday, officers requested the public’s assistance in finding David “Yoda” McKay and Cydnie Markel-Rempel. Neither have known fixed addresses and police are canvassing local areas and transient encampments in search of the two suspects.

Anyone with more information on the location of McKay and Markel-Rempel is cautioned not to approach or try to detain them, but instead call 911.

IHIT is leading the investigation and working with the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment RCMP to locate the suspects.
