Police are searching for suspects after a car smashed into a downtown Vancouver Versace store during an alleged theft.

The incident happened shortly before 6 a.m. on Saturday, when officers were called to a break-and-enter at the designer store located at 747 Thurlow Street.

Police say it appears a car drove through the front window, and then the occupants grabbed some merchandise before driving away.

Images from the scene show the glass at the front of the store completely shattered, and yellow police tape surrounding the area.

Reports suggest the vehicle involved was a Mercedes.

Police say exactly what was stolen has yet to be determined. An investigation is ongoing.
