Firefighters surrounded an East Vancouver home Wednesday afternoon after a car crashed through its side wall, severing a gas meter.
The vehicle drove off the road at Pandora and Slocan streets, rammed through a wood fence and struck the residence around 2 p.m.
Fortis BC sent a crew to shut off the gas and assess the scene. Police said no one was home at the time.
The driver was extracted from the car and taken to Vancouver General Hospital with minor injuries.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
