The Vancouver Canucks and CanucksTV announced today that for the first time in club history, all Pay-Per-View Canucks games this season will be available in High-definition as well as Standard-definition. The Canucks will be broadcasting 12 Pay-per-view games during the 2008-2009 regular season.

CanucksTV will usher in the season by offering HD for the first Pay-Per-View game scheduled October 13th at Washington. With some providers, customers can choose Standard-definition, at $139.95 for the full-season package, or High-definition at $169.95. Single games are available for $15.95 per game in HD, and $12.95 per game in Standard Definition.

"We are very pleased to be able to provide every CanucksTV broadcast this season in High-definition," said Canucks President and CEO, Chris Zimmerman. "We are committed to delivering the highest quality product to our fans and believe this represents a major step towards reaching that goal. Viewers asked for more HD games and CanucksTV will provide it on each of the 12 games broadcast in Pay-Per-View during the 2008-09 season."

Some of the highlights offered this season include Alex Ovechkin's Washington Capitals taking on the Canucks during their October 13th match-up, Dany Heatley and the Ottawa Senators' first meeting at General Motors Place since the Canucks shootout win in 2005, and a highly anticipated match-up against the Montreal Canadiens on February 15th.
