The brother of a former stock broker stabbed to death in an apartment building on Vancouver’s West Side has now been charged in his murder.

Robert Orr was found badly injured in the lobby of the building at 5614 Balsam Street early Thursday morning.

The 59-year-old was rushed to hospital with stab wounds but died from his injuries.

The suspect was apprehended in Coquitlam a short time later.

Douglas Cameron Orr, 66, is now charged with one charge of second-degree murder, and is being held in custody until his next court appearance.

Douglas Orr made a very brief appearance in Vancouver provincial court Friday morning. He appeared dishevelled and unshaven, a CTV Vancouver reporter said.

His case has been put over until Nov. 20.
