A cab company in Dawson Creek, B.C. is under investigation after two women and a 13-year-old girl say they were sexually assaulted by taxi drivers.

The investigation began last week when the teenager called police to say that a driver for Golden Cabs lured her into his taxi with promises of a free ride home. She said that she was locked inside the car and sexually assaulted instead.

Mounties say that they have now identified two more adult victims of similar alleged attacks dating back to October 2011 that had not been reported to police. Golden Cabs has only been in business since March 2011, according to the company website.

A 55-year-old male driver has been arrested and remains in custody in connection to one of the assaults. Police are planning to recommend charges of sexual assault and forcible confinement.

A suspect has yet to be identified in the attack on the 13-year-old. RCMP Staff Sgt. Milo MacDonald told ctvbc.ca that investigators are in the process of identifying a "second potential suspect" and are asking anyone who may have been a victim to come forward.

"There are a number of reasons why people don't report crimes -- sometimes it's fear, sometimes it's embarrassment," MacDonald said.

"Hopefully they would be able to get the courage to come forward because of the fact that others are speaking up."

He added that the victims identified so far have nothing in common apart from the alleged sex assaults.

Dawson Creek Mayor Mike Bernier issued a statement Wednesday promising that the allegations are being taken very seriously and warning that Golden Cabs could lose its operating licence.

"The safety of Dawson Creek citizens is paramount. We are therefore asking staff to explore all our options regarding possible suspension or revocation of the company's business licence," Bernier said.

He added that city council will be asking the provincial Passenger Transportation Board to conduct a fitness review of Golden Cabs. The board has the power to cancel licences and suspend vehicles from operation.

Golden Cabs president Abraham Koshin also owns a taxi company with the same name in Grande Prairie, Alta. Officers have searched the Dawson Creek Golden Cabs office and are working with police across the border in Alberta to identify potential witnesses and victims.

Dispatchers at Golden Cabs in both Dawson Creek and Grand Prairie told ctvbc.ca that they had no information about the police investigation, and referred questions to Koshin, who could not be reached. Police say that other local cab companies are not under investigation.
