A 58-year-old man from the Fraser Valley has been charged with multiple counts of child pornography.

Abbotsford police arrested Danial James Munroe on Tuesday following a months-long investigation into the suspected distribution of child sex abuse images.

During the probe, officers executed a search warrant at a local home and seized computers, phones, cameras, hard drives and storage devices. Police haven’t said who owns the property.

On Thursday, authorities confirmed charges of distributing child porn, possessing child porn, and making child porn available have been approved against Munroe.

He has been released from custody on several court-ordered conditions, including that he not communicate with anyone under the age of 18, or visit anywhere he could reasonably expect to see them, including parks, schools, daycare centres, skating rinks and community centres.

Munroe is also barred from accessing pornography of any kind, possessing an electronic device capable of accessing the Internet, or communicating with anyone involved in sexually exploiting children or who possesses child porn.

Anyone with information relevant to the case is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-589-5225 or send a text to 222973.
