Electric vehicle charging stations in condos

Mike from Vancouver wanted to know if B.C. has any plans to force strata councils to allow electric vehicle charging stations on strata property. He owns an electric vehicle, as does his neighbor and their request to install one in the garage of their building has been turned down by the strata council even though they’ve offered to pick up the installation tab. The Ministry of Housing told us that while it encourages stratas to implement electric charging stations, there are no plans for legislation any time soon.

Home insurance premiums go up for a number of reasons

Debbie from Delta noticed her home insurance premiums had doubled in a year and wants to know why. The experts say incidents like flooding in Alberta and increased claims can affect individual companies rates. Also, companies do reviews every three to five years to review what it would cost to rebuild a house. Another cause? The number of small earthquakes in B.C. We were also told good or bad credit can affect premium rates.

Does Air Canada charge a fee to book over the phone?

Sabrina wanted to know if it’s cheaper to book kids fares with Air Canada over the phone rather than online. She also heard that the airline charges a $25 fee to book over the phone. Air Canada tells us flights are always the same cost regardless of the booking method. The only exception is web only special fare promotions.  As for the extra fee to book over the phone? It doesn’t exist.
