Jina was born in Prince Rupert but moved to the Lower Mainland soon after and was raised in Maple Ridge. She is proud to call B.C. home – her journalism experience is international. She worked as a producer/reporter fro an all-news radio station in Hong Kong before moving into television as a reporter and anchor. She was also based in Singapore covering current affairs while traveling extensively throughout Asia.
When home called, she landed a new assignment at Vancouver Television (VTV) as a reporter, and weekend anchor for VTV News at Six. Shortly after, she was the morning anchor for VTV Breakfast and kept her that role when the station changed over to CTV British Columbia but now she is comfortable reporting the news for CTV News.
Jina, a Korean-Canadian attended high school in Maple Ridge and launched her journalism career at The Maple Ridge News as a reporter and columnist while studying Communications and English at Simon Fraser University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.
She enjoys spending time with her family, and loves anything and everything to do with the great B.C. outdoors.
