1. Pattullo nightmare: Do some commuting on the Pattullo Bridge? Get used to delays. TransLink says it plans to spend 18 months rehabilitating the crossing with a ‘severe’ impact on traffic.

2. Destroyed records: A former assistant to the Ministry of Transportation says the government deleted records relating to the infamous Highway of Tears. Tim Duncan says he was ordered to delete email records of ministry meetings.

3. Lawsuit launched: Two men convicted of first-degree murder in the notorious ‘Surrey-Six’ murders are suing the provincial government. They claim they were kept in cells smeared with feces and blood, denied visits with families and several other harassments.

4. Kicked off over child: The lead singer of Walk Off the Earth says she was kicked off an American flight because of safety concerns for her toddler son. She says she was kicked off due to flight attendants saying they felt “unsafe’ because her son was causing some sort of “threat” to the flight.

5. A doggy milestone: It was a first for courtrooms in B.C.: a canine has helped a 10-year-old girl testify during a sexual-assault trial in Surrey. Crown lawyer Winston Sayson says the dog named Caber soothed the girl so she could provide a full and candid account about the horrific incident that allegedly victimized her. Six dogs are believed to be accredited to assist victims in Canada.
