1. Whales caught: Three entangled whales have been rescued in a week, with the latest being spotted on Sunday near Ucluelet. The Mexican Humpback was entangled in crabbing gear believed to have come from Washington State. 2. Expensive bathroom break: Mounties on Vancouver Island are searching for a man after clothes were shoved down a toilet at the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, causing $50,000 in damage. The bathroom was so backed up, an office below the bathroom was flooded with sewage.

3. Phony Indiana Jones: B.C. Mounties have arrested a man who they say was tricking locals into buying fake gold ingots and Buddha figurines. The man allegedly approached people claiming to be from the construction industry and saying he had unearthed the treasures by chance along with an ancient will.

4. Firing back: One of the players on the Canadian Women’s World Cup soccer team is firing back at her critics. Lauren Sesselman’s slip early in the first half of the Canada vs. England game led to a goal, with critics taking to social media to lambast the defender. In a lengthy Instagram post, she fired back.
