ABBOTSFORD, B.C. -- Police are trying to determine if three early-morning fires in Abbotsford, B.C., are related.

Const. Ian MacDonald says crews were called to an abandoned home at 3 a.m. and worked hard to contain the blaze.

At about 4:30 a.m., police and fire crews were dispatched to a fire at a convenience store that contains two suites where a total of eight people live.

MacDonald says one of the residents called police and began dousing the flames with a hose as others joined in with buckets before police and firefighters arrived.

He says none of the occupants were injured.

At about 8 a.m., employees of a bank reported fire damage to an exterior wall of the building.
