A Kelowna, B.C. man who won a whopping $21.9 million in Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 draw is ready to wave goodbye to his debt and say hello to the good life.

Robert Goertzen, a 44-year-old heavy equipment instructor, was identified as the province’s latest multi-millionaire on Monday by the B.C. Lottery Corporation.

Goertzen learned of his win a day earlier while checking his ticket at a local Superstore, leaving onlookers stunned.

“I felt famous! Everyone was coming up to me to congratulate me and to take a photo of me at the lottery screen,” Goertzen said in a BCLC release.

The lotto winner said he he intends to keep working, but has some plans for spending his fortune, which include paying off his debt, giving his girlfriend a Jeep and providing his daughter with the best education money can buy.

He also plans to treat himself to a new diesel truck and 5th wheel trailer.

“This win means freedom – to be free from debt and have the life I’ve always wanted,” Goertzen said.
